International Symposium on Intelligent Unmanned System

ABOUT THE EVENT
The International Symposium on Intelligent Unmanned System (ISIUS) 2009 is jointly organized by Konkuk University (KU), Institute Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). The joint-event is the 5th conference, extending from International Conference on Emerging System Technology (ICEST) in 2005, International Conference on Technology Fusion (ICTF) in 2006, both held in Seoul, and International Conference on Intelligent Unmanned Systems (ICIUS) in 2007 hosted in Bali. Last year in 2008, NUAA hosted the ISIUS 2008 as a joint conference with International Symposium on Nature-Inspired Technology (ISNIT) 2008 for the first time. The objective of ISIUS 2009 is to share recent progress in intelligent unmanned systems among researchers and engineers in the world. It will provide an international forum to present and discuss the state-of-the-art intelligent unmanned systems. We are pleased to invite you to submit papers and attend ISIUS 2009. The ISIUS 2009 will be co-located with the ISNIT 2009 in Jeju, South Korea.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
The main theme of the conference is areas of intelligent unmanned systems, focusing on flying, mobile, and swimming robots with smart sensors, artificial muscle actuators, and intelligent microsystems.

Actuators/Smart Sensors and Their Applications: Advancement and application of new class of artificial muscle actuators and related materials, smart MEMS/NEMS sensors, vision sensors, etc
Intelligent Biomimetic and Unmanned Systems: Design and applications of micro/small flying robots, intelligent ground/underwater robots, and biomimetic robots, etc.
Control Theories and Their Applications: Development and application of various control theories, distributed or decentralized control methods, distributed and embedded systems, precision motion control, swarm operation, etc

ABOUT SUBMISSION AND JOURNAL PUBLICATION
Authors are invited to submit original research papers. All the submitted papers will be peer-reviewed according to the editorial policies of Journal of Bionic Engineering (SCIE), Chinese Science Bulletin (SCI) and Indian Journal of Marine Sciences (SCIE). Selected papers will be published in the journals. Please send your abstract to the symposium secretariat, Professor Agus Budiyono at agus@konkuk.ac.kr
